Alchemist is an early-stage venture firm — a premier investor and community for deeply technical founders building in enterprise tech, deep tech, and foundational infrastructure. Alchemist began as the enterprise accelerator for technical founders; today we invest alongside qualified venture partners and back every portfolio company with a commercialization system built over more than a decade of founder work: expert coaching, playbooks, a selective community of founders and operators, and direct access to customers, investors, and Silicon Valley.
Since 2012, we've backed 750+ companies — a portfolio that includes 5 unicorns, 80+ exits, and more than $5B in follow-on funding. We believe enterprise commercialization can be coached — and we measure success in enterprise traction: customer evidence, pipeline, and revenue.
About the role
Every Alchemist portfolio company runs on the same internal engine: the systems, data, and workflows that connect founders, coaches, investors, and the Alchemist team. This role owns that engine. You will design, build, and automate the operational infrastructure of the platform, and you'll make it run at the speed of today's founders.
Alchemist runs AI-natively: we expect recurring work to be automated, and we build internal tools rather than adding headcount. You'll be the person who turns "we do this manually every week" into "the system does this for us," partnering with engineering to ship the internal products that let a small team deliver an outsized founder experience. This is a high-agency, high-ownership senior IC role.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate has 3–10 years of operations experience, ideally as a former founder or early startup operator. They should be:
A systems thinker, you see workflows, not tasks. Whatever the tool (database, spreadsheet, or script) you instinctively design the process so it runs itself, connects cleanly to everything around it, and scales.
High agency, you don't wait for a ticket. You find the broken process, fix it, and tell everyone how it works now.
Biased toward action, comfortable wearing many hats, tackling ambiguity, and working hands-on with a small, fast-moving team.
A builder with agentic AI,hands-on with tools like Claude Code, Cowork, and Codex shipping working automations, agents, and internal tools, not just drafting text with a chatbot.
Product-minded,with enough product management exposure to spec, prototype, and ship internal tools in partnership with engineering.
Motivated by ownership, excited to be the person the whole platform depends on and to be measured on how much leverage you create.
Key responsibilities
Platform systems ownership.Own the internal systems stack — CRM, databases, tooling, and the integrations between them — and maintain a single source of truth for companies, founders, coaches, partners, and investors.
Workflow automation.Design, build, and maintain automated workflows across the platform — from company intake and diagnostics to reporting and follow-ups. Ruthlessly eliminate manual steps.
AI-native operations.Prototype and productionize AI agents and automations that boost team and program productivity. Share what works (and what doesn't) so AI fluency compounds across the whole team.
Engineering partnership.Work with engineering to prioritize, spec, and ship internal tools. Translate operating pain into product requirements.
Data & reporting.Own data hygiene and platform dashboards — founder NPS, engagement, milestone progress, funnel metrics — so the team runs on evidence, not anecdote.
Process design.Document, standardize, and continuously improve platform operations so they scale across funds, partners, and geographies without breaking.
Workflow documentation.Even the best workflows die without robust documentation. You will create and maintain human and AI-readable knowledge about how the workflows work, and why.

Track record designing and automating cross-functional systems and workflows (CRMs and the tools around them)
Demonstrated AI-forward (native) working style — you can show us what you've built and automated

Thrives with ownership & responsibility; strong bias toward action
Clear written communication and rigorous documentation habits
English-language oral and written fluency
Bonus experience & skills
Experience in venture capital or founder-serving organizations

Experience in enterprise / B2B startups
Performance metrics
Team & founder satisfaction with tooling & solutions
Speed from "process pain identified" to "solution shipped"

Why this role
This is more than an ops job. The platform is the founder's edge — it's a big part of why Alchemist companies win. You'll be the person who makes that engine hum, with the autonomy to rebuild it as you go. If you love turning chaos into systems — and systems into leverage — we want to meet you.
